Rev. Dr. Paulo Rogério Brandão Santos

Founding President and Rector

Rev. Dr. Paulo Rogério Brandão Santos is a pastor, theologian, ministerial educator, and Christian writer. Born in Brazil, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at age 17. Married to Selma Santos since age 18, they have served the Lord together for over two decades.

At 22 years old, he relocated to the United States, where he has dedicated his life to forming leaders, pastors, and missionaries. His passion is creating spaces where God meets His people — through Scripture, prayer, community, and service.

Dr. Paulo is the founder of Theophany Biblical Institute, an educational institution committed to forming a new generation of leaders who know God not merely through theology, but through encounter.

"Theology, taught and lived with faithfulness, creates the conditions for an encounter with the Living God — who speaks through Sacred Scripture, through the Spirit, through the community of His people, through prayer, suffering, worship, and service."

— Rev. Dr. Paulo Rogério Brandão Santos

Our Statement of Faith

Theophany Biblical Institute subscribes to the fundamental truths of the Pentecostal Christian faith:

1. Holy Scripture

The Holy Bible, Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, infallible, and sufficient Word of God, the sole rule of faith and practice.

Foundation: 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21

2. The Holy Trinity

There is one eternal God who reveals Himself in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Foundation: Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14

3. The Lord Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, fully God and fully man. He was born of the virgin Mary, died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins, rose on the third day, and ascended to heaven. He is the only Mediator between God and humanity.

Foundation: John 1:1-14; Philippians 2:5-11; 1 Timothy 2:5

4. The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. The baptism in the Holy Spirit with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues is a biblical experience available to all believers today. Spiritual gifts are operating in the church.

Foundation: Acts 1:8; Acts 2:1-4; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11

5. Salvation

By God's grace, through faith in Jesus Christ — not by human works. Repentance and faith are the believer's response to the Gospel.

Foundation: Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 10:9-10; Titus 3:5

6. The Church

The Body of Christ, called to holiness, service, and Gospel proclamation. The local church is the context for worship, discipleship, and mission.

Foundation: Ephesians 1:22-23; Ephesians 4:11-16; Hebrews 10:24-25

7. Water Baptism

An ordinance of obedience symbolizing death and resurrection with Christ.

Foundation: Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:3-4

8. The Lord's Supper

A memorial of Christ's death, observed until He returns.

Foundation: 1 Corinthians 11:23-26

9. Divine Healing

Divine healing is a privilege of God's covenant, provided by His grace through faith.

Foundation: Isaiah 53:4-5; James 5:14-15; 1 Peter 2:24

10. Sanctification

A continuous process through which the believer is transformed into Christ's image by the Holy Spirit's work.

Foundation: 1 Thessalonians 4:3; Romans 8:29

11. The Resurrection

There will be a resurrection of the dead — the righteous to eternal life and the unrighteous to condemnation.

Foundation: John 5:28-29; Revelation 20:12-15

12. The Second Coming of Christ

Jesus Christ will return personally, in power and glory, to receive His church.

Foundation: 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 22:12

13. Heaven and Hell

Heaven is the eternal home of the saved. Hell is the place of eternal condemnation for those who reject salvation.

Foundation: John 14:1-3; Matthew 25:46; Revelation 21:1-4

14. The Great Commission

Preach the Gospel to all nations, make disciples, and baptize in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Foundation: Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8

15. Theophany

The visible manifestation of the invisible God. Just as God revealed Himself to Moses in the burning bush, to Elijah in the still small voice, and to us in the incarnation of Christ, Theophany Biblical Institute exists to create spaces where God meets His people.

Foundation: Exodus 3:2-6; John 1:14; Acts 2:1-4
